I’m so happy to finally share this: the ROUH Oracle Deck is now on Kickstarter pre-launch.
This deck of cards has been growing quietly inside me for couple of years. The seed was planted in Morocco, when I wondered: what if the wisdom of North African women could be held in my hands, and shared with the world?
And so I set out to create it!
ROUH brings together 46 women from Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia; some remembered in history books, others carried through our oral tradition. These women were leaders, poets, rebels, mystics, healers and dreamers. They shaped their world with courage and creativity... and I heard their voices echo across time and space.
The Maghreb has always been a meeting ground of worlds. Amazigh roots, Arab and Ottoman legacies, Jewish and Muslim traditions, and the pulse of trans-Saharan trade with the Sahel. Each thread shaping the spirit of its people. Out of this blending came cultures of resilience, creativity, and depth. The women of ROUH were born of that richness, carrying within them the echoes of many worlds at once. That same woven spirit lives in every card of the deck.
Creating this deck has meant months of research, chasing stories, and sitting with the presence of each of the women until each card found its form through art and spirit. Many times it felt less like I was making something new, and more like I was listening to what was already waiting to be heard.
Why an oracle? The word itself comes from the Latin oraculum, “to speak.” In ancient times, it meant a place or person through whom wisdom was voiced. Today, an oracle is often in the form of a card deck. We use oracles today not to predict fate (how boring would life be if we did!) but to intuitively find guidance. So each card in ROUH was envisioned as a mirror, an invitation to pause and listen in.
And now, it’s almost ready.
Kickstarter is the space I have chosen for those who want to stand behind this vision and make the ROUH Oracle possible. The first step isn’t even to pledge, it’s simply to build the circle. By clicking “Notify me on launch” on the Kickstarter page, you’ll be the first to know when ROUH goes live, and you’ll help create the momentum that brings it into the world.
And if you feel that ROUH already speaks to you, please also share this blog with your friends, family, and circles. The more people who gather, the stronger the fire we carry forward together.
The deck will be ready just in time for the holidays, making it a wonderful gift of spirit, courage, and presence for yourself or someone you love.
The women of ROUH walked before us. Now, through this deck, they walk beside us.
Please help me carry their fire forward.
Love & gratitude,
Ratiba
